Mr. Suleiman Shahbal – Managing Director

Suleiman Shahbal is a US graduate in business and finance, and has over 25 years experience in banking with large multinational and regional financial institutions.

He has held several key positions with leading banks, including – Vice President of Citibank in the Middle East, and Deputy General Manager - International Operations with BankMuscat, the largest investment and commercial bank in Oman. This position placed Suleiman at the forefront of acquiring banks in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and India, and as a key contributor in the creation of international business for BankMuscat.

He is also the Chairman and founder of the Gulf African Bank in Kenya, which is East Africa’s first Islamic bank.

Suleiman has also been involved in establishing several successful businesses, including GulfCap where he is the Managing Director.

Mr. Jamil Qureshi – Chief Executive Officer

Jamil Qureshi has an MBA graduate and over 20 years experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, management consulting, and business and financial advisory services.

He has provided these professional services across a diverse range of sectors, including real estate, retail and leisure, tourism and hospitality, banking and finance (conventional and Islamic), energy/hydrocarbons, manufacturing, telecoms and power.

In September 2006, he left Ernst & Young, where he was the Director of Business Advisory Solutions, to establish GulfCap in partnership with Suleiman, where he is currently the Deputy CEO and CIO.

Mr. T.V Alaga Raja – Chief Executive Officer, Financial Services

Alaga Raja is a professionally qualified chartered accountant from India with over 20 years of experience in banking and 5 years of experience in finance functions of various companies. He has handled various functions of corporate, retail, investment banking, treasury, operations and oystems. The majority of his banking career was with BankMuscat in Oman in various positions ending with Deputy General Manager. He has held responsible positions in other banks like, Industrial Bank of Oman as the Chief Executive Officer, National Bank of Oman as the Deputy General Manager and Bank of Baroda as head of corporate credit.
